Shirley Shahan to appear at 2009 AMO Show

			Gateway AMC is 
			proud to announce that Shirley Shahan will be at the 2009 AMO 
			Nationals!  Shirley raced several cars as the Drag-On-Lady, and was 
			the first woman to win an NHRA event. In 1969 the Shahan’s received 
			SS/AMX #35 from American Motors and it was not long before Shirley 
			established new D/Super Stock records.   Later in her racing career, 
			she raced a Gremlin and Hornet.
			
			 
			
			Many of us were 
			lucky to see Shirley two years ago at the Denver AMO show, now she 
			will be coming to the Midwest.  Shirley was known to tear up many drag strips 
			across the country, and she remembers coming to 
			St. Louis once a year to race at both the 
			Alton and Pacific drag strips.  
			
			
			 
			
			We hope you plan 
			on attending the 2009 AMO Show, and don’t forget to pre-register if 
			you plan on showing a vehicle. It will really help our club plan the 
			layout of the show-field.  The Gateway members are hard at work to 
			ensure this will be a memorable show.  See you July 16-18 in
