To ALL AMO Chapters, 1-29-2009

We hope that many of you will be coming to Collinsville, IL July 15-18 to participate in the AMO Car Show and Swap meet. Hopefully most of your will also spend some vacation time and visit the metropolitan area and see the many sites of St. Louis, MO and Collinsville, IL.

If you haven't booked a room at the "Host Hotel Collinsville", all of the rooms are now booked.

The Drury Inn is listed at the top of local hotels has a block of 40 rooms between $119.95 & $129.95 to help will the overflow of needed rooms. Most all of the hotels listed are all within sight of the host "Hotel Collinsville" and the Gateway Center Show-field. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby to feed you and your family.

There are several big events happening around the same time as our show. One of which was known in advance. The MLB ALL-STAR game will be held at Busch Stadium on Tuesday July 14th, 2009, and it shouldn't be a factor. The second event wasn't on the Metro area calendar when we signed our final contact 1-10-08 and that appeared on the radar just two weeks ago.

It’s a NASCAR BUSCH Series race (sorry old series name) now scheduled for Saturday July 18th 2009. I would suggest that people do not hesitate and book their rooms ASAP! Within a week or two there may not be any rooms left at these hotels that are within 1 mile or less of our show.

Please remember the indoor car display has a limited apace, and is based on a first come first serve basis. As many of you know, banquet tickets are always limited too. Please remember to complete your AMO registration form found on the AMO site and send it in soon. This will help us plan the staging of the cars for parking both the indoor and the outdoor show field.

This is the closest AMO Meet for the Midwest area in several years (Denver 2007 & Kingston, ON Canada 2008) and we hope that many of missed those events will attend the Collinsville, IL show on July 15-18, 2009. We are expecting a large turnout, and plan on putting on one of the best AMO shows ever! We will see you in July, and have a safe and enjoyable trip to our show.
